Lithium Carbonate Powder Description

What is Lithium Carbonate powder?

Lithium Carbonate LC400 hardening accelerator can improve the low temperature hydration ability of special cement by speeding up the break of hydration protective film, shortening the hydration period and entering the acceleration stage in advance, to improve the low temperature performance of special cement.
The Lithium Carbonate LC400 early strength agent helps the hydration product crystals to grow in a uniform and dispersed way, it improves the low temperature compressive strength, and has excellent low temperature early strength promoting coagulation effect.

Lithium Carbonate Powder Applications

Lithium Carbonate Powder is highly recommended for use in mortar systems containing sulphoaluminate cement and high aluminate cement to improve early strength:

  • One-component system, three-component system cement-based self-leveling
  • Quick repair mortar
  • Inorganic magic stone, terrazzo
  • Cement crafts

Lithium Carbonate Functions

  • Lithium carbonate powder can significantly promote the hydration of sulphate aluminium cement/high aluminum cement and improve the initial strength.
  • The more the amount of high aluminum/sulphate aluminium cement, the faster the hydration rate of lithium compounds on the cement slurry.
  • The higher the early strength of lithium compounds, the greater the impact on the final strength (↓).
  • The increase of lithium carbonate pressure resistance is obvious, but it will drag down the bending resistance, and the increase of lithium sulfate pressure resistance will not affect the bending resistance.
  • Lithium compounds will improve the surface wear resistance of the mortar, but because it causes the mortar to set fast, it reduces the permeability of the mortar to a certain extent, which will lead to the decline of the cement tensile adhesion.
  • Among the three lithium compounds, lithium sulfate can reduce the shrinkage rate of mortar to a certain extent.

How is lithium carbonate used and dosage?

The recommended dosage of Lithium carbonate powder in cement self-leveling is 0.05%, and in repair mortar it is 0.1% to 0.12%. The rest depends on the strength requirements and is mainly based on actual tests.

Lithium Carbonate Storage Transportation Condition

  • Storage and transportation of Lithium carbonate powder should be carried out in cool and dry condition. Under high temperature and high humidity, product should be kept away from moisture and pressure to avoid coalescence or agglomeration.
  • If the Lithium carbonate powder product is not used up, the opened package must be sealed tightly to prevent moisture from ingress.
